Coolhunter is a creator-led subculture archive built through attention, memory, and lived participation.
Through short films, visual studies, stills, sounds, archive notes, and physical objects, the project explores the emotional texture of connection, culture, music, nightlife, creativity, and place.
Rooted in Toronto and inspired by the analog spirit of the 90s and early 2000s, Coolhunter documents fleeting moments before they disappear.
Created by Lauralee Sheehan, founder of Digital 55 and one half of Jo Ryder, Coolhunter sits at the intersection of film, music, memory, and creator-led storytelling.
Rooted in underground culture, nightlife, emotional realism, sound and independent film, the project explores how scenes, places, and people shape cultural memory.
